The 2008 WIBCA State Team Tournament made it through a snow storm, rain, and fog -- all in the same 4 day weekend! Over 980 hardy participants, in 10 events, rejoiced in $66,220 in prize money. The different divisions had really, gut wrenching matches with many getting down to the last game. Congratulations to you all.

The BCA Pool League sanctioned event began Thursday night with the Men's and Mixed Scotch Doubles Power Rated Events. On Friday night, the Men's and Woman's Teams took to the arena. It's always interesting to hear the names that members come up with. What about, 4 Stools Short, Balls of Fire, and Buster Hyman & the Penetrators??? It's also encouraging to see the growth in our sport as there were 3 more teams than last year in the Men's B division, 8 more in the Men's A, and the Woman's Master A grew from 9 to 13.

Thanks to the staff at the Radisson Hotel for providing a relaxed and comfortable venue for our event. A humungous thank you to the Oneida Casino for the $8000 added to the prize fund. And, a special shout out to Rod Schaeffer from Twin States Music Co. for the great tables and service he provided both, over the weekend at our Team tournament and, at the past Singles event. And, as always, a huge Thank You to Dean "Dr Pool" Roeseler for the additional tables and to his crew for running another seamless event. As we all know, it's not just the organization during the weekend, but the gruelling preparation long before the start of match play.

And, last but not least, warm wishes to you players who made this event happen. Without you, there wouldn't be a WIBCA State Tournament. We wish you all continued success in your pool season and, to all of you going to the BCA National 8-Ball Championships in Vegas, good luck. We'll see you all next year.
