The 2nd Annual Columbus Team Challenge took place October 9-11, 2009. The event, ran by Tournament Director Chris Williams and co-produced by Bad Boys Billiard Productions, had 89 men singles, 34 women singles, 32 men’s team and 14 women’s team entries. Earl Timmons served as referee.
The 8-Ball tournament was played on 7’ Diamond tables. Players attended from Ohio and such surrounding states as; Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin and New York. Players from Canada even participated.
In the men’s team event, the winning group “No Chance” showed they had tremendous chance as they were knocked to the one-loss bracket in the second round. They grinded back 10 rounds to win the division. In the other 3 divisions, men’s singles, women’s singles and women’s team all of the winners were undefeated.
In singles play, the men and women raced to five and four respectively. In team play, the early rounds for the triple elimination format raced to eleven and for men and nine women. Final round play raced to fifteen for the men and eleven for the women.
